Hello from Okinawa, Japan! Shortly after arriving in Japan at the beginning of January and having a few leadership meetings/ trainings with some of our staff and ministry workers in our network, we kicked off the new year with an Empowering Japan New Year lunch where many of our Empowering Japan Community and staff got to join.
We also received a Korean YWAM outreach team from Kona, Hawaii during that time as well that ministered with us for a few weeks. They were the first of four YWAM outreach teams that we as Empowering Japan and Yomitan International Church will be hosting over these first months of the year.
Though I’ve been preaching a bit locally when I get invitations, the main focus of my time lately has been creating a 6 day per week ministry schedule with some other EJ members for these YWAM teams that we are hosting. Late last year we prepared the downstairs area of our church to be able to host missions teams and so far we’ve had three teams stay there since we got it running. Then from there, we are connecting these missions teams to ministry all over the island and they are doing things like cleaning, outdoor work, evangelism, worship ministry, children’s ministry, ministry to the elderly, preaching and sharing testimonies, prayer ministry, cooking, and more in various places.
Then people locally on the island, including people on our Empowering Japan team and network also are able to join these ministry events. So our ministry activity here in Okinawa has increased exponentially since we have been receiving these teams.
Currently we are hosting a team of 9 people from YWAM Amsterdam, which consists people from Germany, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Israel, Netherlands, and Canada.
Since the start of the new year and our ministry events, we have seen about 50+ people get supernaturally healed physically, including a man’s completely deaf ear open and receive hearing by the power of Holy Spirit! Also there have been about 14-15 salvations and multiple recommitments to Christ! Glory to God!

Also we have been continuing with the Zoom ministry and training events every month too. We’ve been having a lot of good stuff happen on those calls too, especially the prophetic flowing strongly. We’ve had many testimonies of supernatural healing happen on the calls too. Every month we also have in-person “Empowering nights” in Okinawa which includes: live worship, preaching/ training in a variety of topics, and also ministry time. We have seen many healings, and powerful moves of Holy Spirit at these nights. For more information, click here. Here are some photos our most recent Empowering night:
Holy Spirit moved strongly that night in powerful manifestations of His presence. A lot of physical and emotional healings as well and prophetic words. We had many countries from around the world there. Members from YWAM shared, and I talked about the anointing of Holy Spirit, living a life of faith, and the difference between trying to be impressive to the world and impactful in the Kingdom. At the end we kneeled at the foot of the cross and prayed to surrender our lives and our future totally to Holy Spirit and we prayed for each other. Glory to God for all He did!
